The world’s most successful choir Gregorian, which has performed in Latvia several times, always in sold-out arenas, will visit us again as part of their new concert tour Pure Chants.

Hailing from Germany, the highly popular Gregorian is known for their pop and rock songs inspired by the Gregorian chant of the church. The collective has been giving wonderful live shows already for twenty years. Unusual soundscapes combined with a powerful production deliver a memorable concert experience in both sound and image. A concert performance of Gregorian’s new album called Pure Chants will take place on 2 December at the Arena Rig.

The album Pure Chants, released in December 2021, features classic choral songs complemented by folk and pop favourites. The Pure Chants world tour started in early 2023 and includes over 180 concerts in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. The concert will feature a selection of traditional tunes mixed with contemporary pieces, accompanied by a high-quality production with outstanding lighting and a powerful sound. The greatest hits programme includes songs like ‘Sound of Silence’ (Simon & Garfunkel), ‘Moment of Peace’, ‘Hallelujah’ (Leonard Cohen), ‘Fix You’ (Coldplay), ‘My Heart Will Go On’ (Celine Dion), ‘Sadeness’ (Enigma), ‘Ameno’ (Era) and more.

Gregorian is characterised by harmonic vocals accompanied by instrumental arrangements and it is fronted by its founder Frank Peterson. The choir has performed in arenas, theatres, and churches in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. A total of 3 million people have attended Gregorian concerts in 31 countries. The repertoire of the ensemble consists of almost 300 songs, ranging from classical music to pop songs and modern rock.

In 1999, Gregorian released their first album Masters Of Chant, which became an eponymous series of ten albums released until 2015. In the meantime, the collective has released several other albums, including a Christmas album, several greatest hits collections, live concert recordings, and music video albums. Gregorian has sold more than 10 million records worldwide and has achieved gold and platinum status in 24 countries.

Tickets for the Gregorian concert with prices starting from €39.90 will be available from Tuesday, 11 April at 10.00 a.m. at Bilesurerviss sales points.
